Phase 4 - Refine Strategy (In Progress)
The refinement of our planning strategy is ongoing and we are starting to build up our community hub committee as we see community members stepping forward to offer their input and ideas. We are excited to soon be moving towards an implementation of our strategy through application for grants to take the project to the design phase.
Phase 3 - Confirm Strategy with Community (Completed)
We have adapted a second phase survey, and an additional open house in early 2019 which helped refine and inform further adjustments to the strategy. We have taken this information and have developed some concepts which we continue to refine and receive feedback on.
Open House content, and 2019 Survey findings are available online here.
Phase 2 - Develop Strategy (Completed)
We heard from you through the surveys and open houses and as of August 2018, have received approval of our Strategy Document. This means we will start looking at options and weighing them against your feedback and input thus far.
In the short term we have highlighted 10 areas that were identified by you that will be focus of programming while we plan the next phase. We hope to build engagement and give you something tangible to enjoy!
- Personal Development & Learning
- Nature & Exploring
- Art & Performing Arts
Phase 1 - Needs Assessment (Completed)
The needs assessment and public consultation included an open house and online survey, as well as a mail out paper survey. This survey/open house was completed in September 2017 and was open to all area residents. We had an exciting 200+ households respond to the survey, and over 40 people attend the open house to discuss their opinions and vision for the future of Oak Hills.
The survey included five parts:
- Community Programs & Events
- Use of Community Spaces
- Future Planning
- Getting to know you
The Open House focused on gathering ideas and feedback on 4 main areas:
- Membership Benefits
Presentation material is available here. Please note, the presentation boards were for discussion purposes only and were not part of any actual or current plans for development.
